Is this true regarding school law in the state of texas?
If you have a criminal record are you allowed to pick your child up from school or go in the classroom/field trips…….do they do a criminal background on parents? How common is this and would 2 dwi’s from the past turn my world upside down and not have me included in this stuff? I am so desperate for answers. Again this is the state of texas town of ferris. Thanks for your time
Dear Ms. Whitley,
According to Texas legal legislative code TLC44509, you may NOT, as a convicted felon, ever pick up your children from a field trip. Most schools have on-site cameras that photograph incoming car license plates and then cross-reference to a national computer data-bank. So don’t even try it. And the DUIs don’t help your case at all.
Sincerely,
