Will a traffic ticket from Texas transfer to my new license in Washington?
I’m moving to Washington state next month and was wondering if my one ticket will transfer over when I get my Washington license. I paid the fine, the ticket was Aug 11 07 (day after my dad went to Iraq, that’s why I remember). I was going 46 in a 35, no excuse for it, I don’t need lectures. I just need to know if this’ll show up. It’s my one and only ticket, I’ve had a license for 10 years. I wanted to work at the Seattle SPCA but they require a Washington license with no moving violations during the past 3 years. They don’t want anyone making calls about jobs, so I can’t call and ask. Thanks!! ![]()
Have no idea what category this should go in!
When you receive your Washington license, you will need to surrender your Texas license. At that time, the Washington DOL may look at your Texas violations and convictions. For example, many states search for major offenses, such as DUI.
I do not know whether Washington searches or accounts for such a minor traffic offense as you have. I suggest you call the Washington DOL. I suspect your question is a common one they receive, and they should be able to give you a quick answer over the phone.
